Freshman Sets Record at Tufts Stampede
Medford, Mass. – A new school shot put record from freshman Daniel Newton (Reading, Mass./Reading Memorial) set the tone for the Skyhawks at the Tufts Stampede held Saturday afternoon. The red-hot Stonehill team had another impressive showing heading into the Northeast-10 Conference Championships next week.
First year thrower Daniel Newton registered a
43’7” throw to claim a new school mark for the Purple
and White. His efforts earned him sixth place in
the event.
Stonehill ended the day with three first-place finishes at the
meet. The first came from senior Keith Gill
(Brockton, Mass./Brockton), who registered a time of 1:53.64 in the
Men’s 800 Meter Run.
The other top spot came in the Men’s 4x 800 Meter
