Metzger, Gill Represent Skyhawks in Terrier Classic

Metzger, Gill Compete in Terrier Classic

Boston, Mass. - After an impressive showing at yesterday's Reebok Boston Invitational, two members of the Men's Track team competed in the Terrier Classic held at Boston University, Saturday afternoon.  Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) represented the Skyhawks in the Men's 1 Mile Run and the 5000 Meter Run.

One day after younger brother Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.) set a school record for the fastest Mile Run by a freshman, older brother Keith set the school record with an outstanding time of 4:06.73.  Keith, a senior, bestest his personal mark of 4:07.22 which claimed the school's top spot exactly one year ago.

Keith's 4:06.3 finish at the Terrier Classic qualifies him for the NCAA National Championship, which will be held in Minnesota later this spring.  Younger brother, Kevin, provisionally qualified yesterday after completing the 1 Mile Run in 4:10.97.  The NCAA automatically accepts runners who finish the event in 4:10.0 or better.

Metzger finished the 5000 Meter Run in 14:59.0.  David, a senior, holds the school record in the event with a 14:37.58 finish.

Both the Men's and Women's Track teams return to action February 2nd at the Tufts Stampede. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
