Gill To Be Featured On CBS Sports Nationally Televised NCAA Winter Sports Championship Program Saturday Afternoon, Three Time Skyhawk All-America's Story On Overcoming Pair Of Illnesses Part Of Show

May 3, 2007

Easton, Mass.-- Three-time Stonehill College junior All-America Keith Gill will be featured as part of CBS's annual coverage of NCAA winter sports championship action this weekend, as the track and cross country standout will be part of the network's nationally televised hour-long program "CBS Sports Presents Championships of the NCAA" that will air on Saturday, May 5th at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

Gill, a native of Brockton, Mass. and a graduate of Brockton High School, will be one of the student-athletes prominently featured during the show hosted by CBS Sports' Seth Davis. After overcoming bouts with both mononucleosis and anemia that sidelined him for nearly a year in both cross country and track, Gill has become the first three-sport All-America in Stonehill history in the last calendar year alone, first earning accolades in outdoor track at the 2006 NCAA Division II Championships in Emporia, Kan in the 1,500 meters and following that up last November with a 27th place individual finish at the 2006 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Pensacola, Fla. The CBS cameras followed Gill and his family in March when Stonehill served as the host institution for the 2007 NCAA Division II Indoor Track Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, as he completed his All-America "hat trick" with a fifth place finish in the mile.

Gill's accomplishments will mark the second time in four years that CBS's eye has focused on Stonehill in the NCAA national championships, as the 2003 women's lacrosse national championship squad was featured that year in the network's spring championships program hosted by Bonnie Bernstein.

"CBS Sports Presents Championships of the NCAA" can be seen locally in Boston on WBZ-TV (Channel 4) and in Providence on WPRI-TV (Channel 12).
