Gill, Beloin Post Second Place Performances As Men's Outdoor Track And Field Finishes Sixth At Southern Connecticut Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-- Both Stonehill outdoor track and field squads posted top 10 team performances against predominantly Division I competition at the Southern Connecticut Invitational on Saturday afternoon, as the Skyhawk men finished sixth overall and the Stonehill women's squad tied for ninth place.

Sophomore Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) placed second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:59.67, while junior Brandon Beloin (Danielson, Conn.) was second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.39. Junior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) placed fourth in the 200 meters for Stonehill with a time of 22.61, while fellow junior Tim Cattogio (Bradford, Mass.) was fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:17.70. Sophomores David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) and Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded sixth place performances in the 1,500 and 5,000 meters, respectively, with times of 4:01.59 and 15:24.36, while the Skyhawk 4 X 100 and 4 X 400 meter relays placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in competition.

On the women's side, freshman Ashley Lane (Needham, Mass.) was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.41, while junior Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) placed sixth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:42.22.

Both Stonehill squads return to action next weekend with competition at the Tufts Invitational on both Friday and Saturday.
