Carbone has been named to NE10 All-Conference teams in three of her four years as a Skyhawk

NE10 Releases Softball All-Conference Teams and Awards 

EASTON, Mass. (May 2, 2017) – Senior Michelle Carbone (Deer Park, New York/St. Anthony's) of the Stonehill College softball team has been name to the Northeast-10 All-Conference second team for her second-straight season, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.  

This will be Carbone's third NE10 honor in her four-year career as a Skyhawk.

The senior is ranked in many categories in the NE10, including 20^th in hits (39) and stolen bases (6), 21^st in batting average (.320), 30^th in doubles (6), 40^th in on-base percentage (.351), and 49^th in slugging percentage (.369).

Carbone also has her name etched in the school record books in 12 categories: third in doubles in a career (35), tied for fifth in hits in a career (167), sixth in ERA in a season (1.41 - 2016) and stolen bases in a career (19), seventh (11 - 2014) and ninth (10 - 2016) in doubles in a season, seventh in at-bats in a career (502), eighth in career batting average (.333), most RBI in a career (84) and homeruns in a career (13), 10^th in runs in a season (28 – 2016) and runs scored in a career (75), 18^th in RBI in a season (28 – 2016).

This season, the senior co-captain kicked off the season with a 2.42 ERA in the two appearances she made with a 1-1 record. At the plate, she led the team in stolen bases, hits and doubles, while also ranking second on the team in batting average, runs scored and on-base percentage this season. During the series against Saint Michael's College this year, Carbone batted 8-for-9, while scoring two runs for the Skyhawks. She also held five-game hit streaks three times this year, as her longest is a 12-game hit streak in her junior year when she totaled 21 hits, including three doubles.

She earned second team honors her junior year after producing a career year at the plate and on the mound for the Skyhawks. The Deer Park, New York native hit .366 to go with five homeruns, 27 RBI and 27 runs scored which are all a career high. In the circle, Carbone when 5-2 with a 1.41 ERA (second in the NE10) in 11 appearances, including five starts. She recorded 20 strikeouts in 44.2 innings of work, and held opponents to a .186 batting average. In the classroom, Carbone was been named to both the NE10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

As a sophomore, Carbone appeared on the mound in nine games, starting six of them and combining for a 2-2 record including two saves and three complete games. She recorded 10 strikeouts and averaged 2.45 earned runs. At the plate, she played in 26 games for a total of 120 at bats, hitting .300 (36-for-120, ranking fourth on the team. Carbone was named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll during the spring semester.

After completing her freshman year, she was named to both the third team and All-Rookie team after a breakout campaign in which she hit .341 (46-for-135) with eight doubles, five home runs, 26 RBI, and a team-high 71 total bases. She slugged .526 and got on base at a .348 clip while also adding five steals and 17 runs scored. In the circle, Carbone when 6-6 with a 4.90 ERA in 21 appearances, including 10 starts. She recorded a team-best 52 strikeouts in 82.2 innings of work, and held opponents to a .298 batting average. Carbone also collected two NE10 Rookie of the Week awards her freshman season.
