Neither team was able to score in the first four innings, until Assumption scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth off of two hits. The Greyhounds' Nicole Duplease singled to right field and Stephanie Menard followed with a base hit to left field. They both advanced to second and third on a sacrifice bunt by Cassie Schultz, and later scored with two outs on a long fly ball to right field by Victoria Petrie who was out at third, 2-0.

The Greyhounds were proactive in the bottom of the third inning with a leadoff double from Petrie who advanced on a ground out and scored from third by Ashley Clark, putting Assumption on board with a 1-0 lead.

Stonehill was able to get the run back and tie the game at one, 1-1 in the top of the fourth, as the frame started off with a leadoff walk from Brayden. She advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Squeri, and scored with two outs off a single to right center from Carbone.

With one out, Rennie advanced to third from a ground out and was kept at third after Lester roped the ball to right field for a line drive.

Stonehill got the first out in the bottom of the seventh with its 12th groundout of the game, and Kayla Peabody came up to the plate and roped a long fly ball to center field on a 1-1 count for a walk-off homerun, her first career and team first of the season.
