Senior Alison Sumski (Amherst, New Hampshire/Souhegan) finished 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while junior Jacklyn Oleksak (Massapequa, New York/Plainedge) posted the only other Stonehill hit and RBI.

Freshman Arika Brochu (Augusta, Maine / Cony) dropped to 4-6 with the loss after giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits over a complete game performance in the circle.

Stonehill jumped out to an early lead this afternoon, as Sumski doubled over the right fielders head and was driven in when Oleksak hit a two-out single to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Stonehill would add two more runs to its tally in the third when senior Emily Padilla (Wappingers Falls, New York/Roy C. Ketcham) started the inning off with a walk. Classmate Lauren Esposito (Middlefield, Connecticut/Coginchaug) followed by getting on base with the help of from an error by the pitcher and senior Megan Staudle (New Windsor, New York/Cornwall Central) then hit into a fielder's choice. After junior Lianna Jordan (Staten Island, New York/St. Joseph By the Sea) moved both runners over on a groundout, Carbone delivered a clutch two-out, two RBI single to plate both Esposito and Staudle and give the Skyhawks a 3-0 lead.

Carbone was lights out from there, not allowing a baserunner the rest of the way and putting down Saint Anselm in order in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh inning.
