Kissimmee, Fla. - The Skyhawks lost their two games on Monday afternoon at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee. Stonehill dropped their first contest of the day 4-3 to Upper Iowa and followed it up with 3-0 defeat at the hands C.W. Post.

The Peacocks got on the board in a big way in the bottom of the first, scoring four runs on just two hits.  They were helped by an error by shortsop Chelsea Stryker (Baldwin, N.Y.) and two walks from freshman pitcher Samantha Krantz (Hampton Bays, N.Y.), who also hit a batsman in the inning.

Stonehill, on the other hand, was held without a hit through the first two innings.  That changed in the third, when Stryker singled through the left side.  However, the freshman was called out on her way to second for interfering with the Upper Iowa second basemen who was fielding a Kate Brides (West Bridgewater, Mass.) hit.

Brides moved into scoring position when she took two bases on a Yesenia Marrero (Brockton, Mass.) single to the pitcher.  The centerfielder then scored the Skyhawks first run of the game as she and Marrero perfectly executed the double steal. Senior Courtney Young (Danvers, Mass.) flied out to end any chance for more runs in the inning.

Stonehill continued their momentum in the top of the fourth, as Ashley Langlois (Ridgefield, Conn.) reached on a walk and eventually came around to score on a Katy Abarr (Richmond, R.I.) hit which was mishandled by the second basemen.  Consecutive walks by Upper Iowa pitcher Stefani Shulte loaded up the bases and Brides made her pay with an infield single that scored Abarr.  Marerro then popped up to the catcher to end the inning.

The Skyhawks went down in order in the fifth and Abarr singled in the sixth, but was stranded at third.  In the seventh Stonehill once again went down in order.

Krantz was charged with two earned runs, struck out one and gave up only four hits in six innings of work, only allowing one hit during her final four innings of work

In the second game of the day pitching reigned for the first two innings as neither team could score, however that changed in the third.  C.W. Post used two doubles and a single in the inning to put two runs across on freshman Kaitlin Andrews (Hudson, Mass.)

The Skyhawks had two singles in the bottom of the third put couldn't get a runner past second, while the Pioneers upped their lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth on a home run over the centerfield wall by Katie Fisher.

In the bottom of the fifth, Stonehill once again had opportunities, as Stryker got on with a walk with one out, and Brides moved her over to second on an infield single. The Skyhawks were poised to score, however a diving catch by centerfielder Melissa Medina robbed catcher Sarah Stumper (St. James, N.Y.) of a hit, and then medina followed that up by grabbing a Young hit to end the threat.

Andrews shut down C.W. Post over the final two frames, allowing just one hit and striking out a batter, however the Skyhawks weren't able to get anything going as Pioneer pitcher Christina Berardi sent Stonehill down in order in the sixth and seventh.

With the two losses, the Skyhawks drop to 0-4 on the season. They return to action on Tuesday when they play Dowling and Northern St. at one and three respectively.
