Easton, Mass. - Playing their first home games of the season, Stonehill flexed their muscles, hitting four homeruns, including a walkoff to take both ends of the doubleheader over visiting C.W. Post on Saturday afternoon at Father Gartland Field.

Jamie Ippolito (Chelsea, Mass.) launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning in game one to catapult the Skyhawks to a 5-3 win. After playing most of the game in left field, Ippolito relieved starter Danielle Mason (Salisbury, Mass.) and tossed 2.1 of one hit relief to also pick up the win.

The Skyhawks took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth when back-to-back Pioneer errors put two Stonehill runners on base. Junior Courtney Young (Danvers, Mass.) then blasted a three-run homer to give the Skyhawks the lead.

C.W. Post rallied to tie the score in the top of the sixth, chasing Mason who went 5.1 innings allowing eight hits, while striking out four.

Stephanie Folan (Glen Cove, N.Y.) had two hits for the Skyhawks in the first game, while Kristen Clark (Brockton, Mass.) scored two runs.

Game two saw Stonehill score the final six runs, including four in the bottom of the fifth to collect the 10-4 win. As was the case in the first game, homeruns supplied much of the Skyhawk offense.

With the score tied at 3-3, in the third, Lauren Rappoli (Wilmington, Mass.) led off the bottom of the frame with a solo shot to give Stonehill a 4-3 advantage.

After the Pioneers tied the game at 4-4, Caitlin Flanagan (Wilmington, Mass.) blasted a grand slam to give Stonehill an 8-4 edge.

Rappoli and Ippolito tacked on RBI singles in the sixth in support of Katie Mottau (Woonsocket, R.I.), who tossed a complete game six hitter, striking out five for her second win of the season.

Rappoli went 2-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored in game two, while Ippolito also had two hits in her four at-bats.

The Skyhawks, now 8-6 overall, return to action on Sunday when they host Pace for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
