Game One Boxscore / Game Two Boxscore

Easton, Mass. - Behind excellent starting pitching and a wonderful relief effort, Bentley took both ends of a doubleheader from Stonehill, winning game one 2-0 and game two 3-1 in 11 innings, Thursday afternoon on Fr. Gartland Field.

With the wins, the Falcons push their win total to 19-17 overall and 12-8 in the Northeast-10 while the Skyhawks dip to 20-18 and 12-12 in Conference action.

Game one saw Bentley's Kelsey Vella go the distance, allowing just six hits to pick up her eighth win of the season. The Falcons scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, with one coming on a Vella RBI groundout.

Kait Mendall (Middleboro, Mass.) went the first five innings for Stonehill, giving up just five hits while striking out four.

Dina Ferriero went 2-for-4 for the Falcons, while Jaime Ippolito (Chelsea, Mass.) had two hits including a double for Stonehill.

Game two was a scoreless affair until the 11th inning when Bentley finally broke through for three runs, highlighted by Christine D'Amico's RBI double. Ashley DeRosa had a run-scoring groundout and Jenna Crowell added an RBI single, all off of reliever Danielle Mason (Salisbury, Mass.), who up until that inning had pitched four innings of hitless relief.

Stonehill answered back in the bottom of the frame with an RBI groundout from Stephanie Folan (Glen Cove, N.Y.), but Falcon reliever Diane Morrison got the final two outs without further damage to earn the win. She tossed 4.2 innings of hitless relief to collect her fifth win of the season.

The Skyhawks managed only four hits in the nightcap and only one after the fourth inning.

Both starters in game two pitched well with Katie Mottau (Woonsocket, R.I.) hurling six innings of four-hit ball, giving up just one walk and striking out six. Her counterpart, Ashley Messina went 6.1 innings, yielding just four hits.

Crowell (2-for-3) was the only player on either team in game two to have multiple hits, while Stonehill's hits came from Lauren Rappoli (Wilmington, Mass.), Caitlin Flanagan (Cornwall, N.Y.), Ippolito and Mason (the first of her career).

Stonehill returns to action on Saturday when they host St. Michael's for a doubleheader in the final home game of the season.
