HOLBROOK, N.Y.-- Sophomore Caitlin Flanagan (Cornwall, N.Y.) went 4-for-6 and drove in four runs to lead Stonehill to a sweep of a non-league college softball doubleheader from Dowling Saturday afternoon by scores of 4-3 in the opener and 6-4 in the nightcap in contests played at the PAL Complex.

Flanagan's three-run homer in the top of the first staked the visiting Skyhawks, now 7-5 overall and winners of five straight dating back to March 8th, to a 3-0 lead, and a solo home run off the bat of freshman Courtney Young (Danvers, Mass.) in the top of the seventh snapped a 3-3 tie that provided the margin of victory for the visitors after the host Golden Lions (5-13) plated three tallies in the third frame. Freshman Meghan Sheehy (East Islip, N.Y.) rapped out two of Stonehill's seven hits in the opener, as sophomore Danielle Mason (Salisbury, Mass.) went the distance to pick up her fourth win in five decisions on the spring for the Skyhawks, fanning three to go to 4-1.

Stonehill rapped out 11 hits in the nightcap triumph, snapping another late 4-4 tie with a pair of runs in the seventh on a throwing error and a Young RBI single. Sheehy went 3-for-4 with a pair of run scoring doubles for the Skyhawks, while Flanagan added two more hits and RBI. Young and sophomore Jaime Ippolito (Chelsea, Mass.) also collected two hits in the second game for the Skyhawks, as freshman Katie Mottau (Woonsocket, R.I.) picked up the win on the mound with three innings of work for Stonehill in relief of sophomore Gina Vivona (Seaford, N.Y.).

Stonehill, winners of seven of its last eight outings overall, opens Northeast-10 Conference play next Saturday afternoon by heading to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on LeMoyne in a league twinbill that begins at Noon.
