Northeast 10 Cross Country Report: Week 1 

EASTON, Mass. (September 6, 2017) – Stonehill College's men's cross country freshman Kevin Wheelock (Melrose, Massachusetts/Melrose) was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday morning.

Wheelock competed in his first-collegiate race in Manchester, New Hampshire in the Shacklette Invitational, hosted by Saint Anselm College. The freshman crossed the finish line first, along with senior Sam Bradford (Bedford, Massachusetts/Bedford) at his side. Both Skyhawks crossed the line with a time of 26.48, taking the individual titles, and assisting Stonehill to its first title of the year tallying 24 points.

Wheelock is a 2017 graduate of Melrose High School and competed in soccer, cross country and track and field through high school. During his senior year, he was crowned the Division 4 2-mile champion in indoor and outdoor track and field. He also competed in Nationals in the DMR and the 2-mile race.

Stonehill takes a weekend off before traveling to Pennsylvania for the Kutztown Division II/III Challenge, hosted by Kutztown University, on Saturday, September 16 with a start time of 10:00 a.m.
