Taxter Named NE-10 Rookie of the Week

Taxter earns first Conference accolade of the season

EASTON, Mass. (October 4, 2016) – Stonehill College men's cross country sophomore Lucas Taxter (Readville, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Taxter assisted the Skyhawks in an 11th-place finish with 426 points at the 43rd Annual Paul Short Invitational in the brown division on Saturday, October 1, hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Stonehill was the second Division II team to cross the finish line behind Shippensburg University who placed fourth with 208 points. The sophomore crossed the finish line with a career-best time of 25:42 tallying a 75th mark out of 401 competitors in the eight-kilometer race.

Stonehill competes in the New England Championship this weekend on Saturday, October 8 at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
