The freshman earned his first award of his collegiate career
Northeast-10 Cross Country Weekly Awards
EASTON, Mass. (September 20, 2016) – The No. 19 Stonehill College men's cross country freshman Michael Durkin (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Durkin helped Stonehill to a third-place finish at the 44th annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational by being the second Skyhawk across the finish line with a time of 25:36.7. The freshman finished 14th out of the 242 runners in the eight-kilometer course.
Stonehill recorded its second top-five result of the 2016 season tallying a total of 99 points at the Invitational.
The Skyhawks are off for a few weeks as they prepare for the Lehigh Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University, which takes place on October 1.
