All-East Region Team. NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (both
semesters). Athletic Director's Honor Roll (fall
semester). Competed in five of Stonehill's seven
meets during his junior campaign, including the final four of the
season. Made his first appearance at the DII/DIII Challenge, where
he placed 19th with a time of 26:22.05 (9/14). Ran to a 59th-place
finish at the New England Championships, clocking in at a
career-best time of 25:41 (10/12). Finished 23rd in 26:21 at the
NE-10 Championship (10/27). Earned All-East Region honors with his
23rd-place finish in 32:45.5 at the East Region Championship
(11/10). Wrapped up his junior season by competing at the NCAA DII
Championship in Spokane, Wash., where he placed 243rd with a time
of 35:53.1 (11/23).
2012: NCAA Division II All-East Region Team. NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (both semesters). Athletic Director's Honor Roll (fall semester). Recorded a time of 32:52 and placed 203rd in the Divison II NCAA Championship 10k race. Finished in 21st place with a career best 10-kilometer time of 31:13 at the NCAA East Regional Championships. Earned a career-best 25:44 time and placed 119th in the 8-kilometer race at the Paul Short Invitational. Finished in 10th place with a time of 25:53 at the Minuteman Invitational 8k. Zawalich Earns NCAA All-East Region Team Honors.
2011: NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (spring semester). Placed 32nd overall at the NE-10 Championships covering the 8-kilometer layout in 25:47.19. Finished 26th overall at the Codfish Bowl in 26:57 (8-kilometers).
High School: 2011 graduate of St. John's High School. Tri-County Leage Most Valuable Player Award winner. School record holder in the one-mile (4:17). Division 1 indoor state mile winner in 2011. Personal bests include 4:17 (one-mile), 2:32 (1,000 meters), 1:58 (800 meters) and 15:44 (5-kilometers). National Honors Society member.
Personal: Born on April 16, 1993 in Paxton, Mass. Son of Joseph and Barbara Zawalich of Paxton, Mass. Has one brother, Tim (19). Lists greatest sports moment as winning the Division 1 indoor mile and winning district cross country meet. Tabs all four major New England sports as his favorite teams and favorite athlete as former teammate Sean Hanlon. Majoring in Health Science.
