Skyhawks Second At Tufts Invite
Grafton, Mass. - Behind a trio of top ten finishers, Stonehill took second place in the annual Tufts Invite held at the Tufts Veterinary School Course in Grafton, Mass. on Saturday.
Sophomore Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.) led the group with a fifth place finish on the 8k course with a time of 27:25.80. He was followed by freshman Stephen Polito (Worcester, Mass.) in sixth at 27:26.24 and Matt Meagher (Mansfield, Mass.) in seventh at 27:26.74.
Jason Lynch (Lynbrook, N.Y.) and Josh Andrews (Chelmsford, Mass.) wrapped up the Skyhawk scoring with a 15th and 16th place finishes, respectively with times of 28:13.47 and 28:13.81.
Brent Haglund of Augsburg College was the individual winner with a time of 26:42.76 and was followed by Bowdoin's Colman Hatton who wrapped up the race in 27:10.03.
Bowdoin also took home the team title, collecting 38 points with second place Stonehill at 49.
The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday when they visit Iona for the Br. Doyle's Meet of Champions.
