Men and Women Fair Well At Fordham Invite

Bronx, N.Y. - The Skyhawk men's and women's cross country squads sit atop the Division II Northeast region poll for a reason. Both programs were the first non-Division I squads to finish at the season-opening Fordham Invite at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday morning.

The women, who finished eighth out of 24 teams, were lead by junior Kristina Coriaty (Brockton, Mass.) was the top Skyhawk finisher, followed by sophomore Bridget DeVincent (Attleboro, Mass.). Andrea Topalis (Simsbury, Conn.) freshman Kelly O'Toole (Nashua, N.H.) and junior Jackie Oates (South Easton, Mass.) rounded out the top five scoring positions for the Skyhawks.

On the men's side, the group ran a strategic race, sticking in a pack, finishing 5th out of 23 participating teams. All-America David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) crossed the line first for Stonehill, followed by Matt Meagher (Mansfield, Conn.) and senior captain Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.). The freshman tandem of Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.) and Jason Lynch (Lynbrook, N.Y.) completed the five scoring slots for the Skyhawks.

Both teams return to action on Saturday when Stonehill travels to the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
