BOSTON, Mass.-- Both Stonehill cross country teams took top honors at the 39th Annual Codfish Bowl Harrier Classic Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park, as the 11th-ranked Skyhawk men placed all five scorers in the top 11 to score 25 points while the 21st-ranked Skyhawk women recorded a team score of 49 points in the competition.

Juniors Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) placed third and fourth, respectively, for the Stonehill men with times of 25:31 over the 7.945K layout, while fellow junior Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) was next in fifth place with a time of 25:37. Senior Tim Catoggio (Bradford, Mass.) placed eighth individually with a time of 26:09, while freshman Josh Andrews (Chelmsford, Mass.) rounded out the Skyhawk scoring by placing 11th with a time of 26:16. Stonehill easily outdistanced Brandeis by 56 points in the college competition, as Bentley was fifth and UMass Lowell seventh in the final team standings. The win came in the Skyhawks' first visit to Franklin Park since capturing last year's NCAA Northeast Regional championship.

On the women's side, seniors Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) and Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) led the way for Stonehill by placing third and fourth, respectively, as Chaisson ran a personal best at Franklin Park in a time of 18:51 over the 5K layout and DeIngenis followed with a mark of 18:59. Sophomore Jenny Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) and freshman Andrea Topalis (Simsbury, Conn.) were next in 12th and 13th place, respectively, for the Skyhawks with times of 19:43 and 19:44, while junior Meghan Barrett (Norfolk, Mass.) closed out the scoring for Stonehill by finshing 22nd with a time of 19:58. The Skyhawks outdistanced college runner up Smith by 80 points in the team standings, while Bentley finished eighth and UMass Lowell finished 15th among Northeast-10 competitors.

Both Stonehill squads return to action next Saturday morning by heading to Smithfield, R.I. to participate in the Bryant Invitational, with the men's race beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by the women's race at 11:00 a.m.
