Klados Earns Second Straight NE-10 Rookie of the Week Award

Lake Forest, Calif., freshman collects weekly award for third time

EASTON, Mass. (March 19, 2013) – Stonehill College freshman Philip Klados (Lake Forest, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week by the league office today.

Klados, who has been named the NE-10 Rookie of the Week three times overall, helped Stonehill split a pair of matches last week. He rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles in the Skyhawks 9-0 sweep of Eastern Nazarene College on Thursday.

Klados is a combined 17-10 in singles and doubles play to start his collegiate career. He is 10-6 in singles matches, including a 1-0 clip in NE-10 contests, going 6-4 at No. 3. Klados is a combined 7-4 for doubles, split between four different partners.

Stonehill (10-3, 3-0 NE-10), ranked ninth in the ITA East Regional rankings, returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts rival Bentley University, ranked sixth in the region, for its first NE-10 match of the spring semester at Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex at 3:30 p.m. The Skyhawks also host Adelphi University, ranked eighth in the region, on Friday at 2 p.m., before visiting American International College on Saturday at 1 p.m., before returning home to host Roger Williams College on Sunday at 3 p.m.
