North Andover, Mass., native selected after leading Skyhawks to 3-1 mark on spring break

Alaimo, who along with classmate Eric Ringstad (Fairbanks, Alaska/Monroe Catholic) have combined to collect Rookie of the Week honors seven times this season, led Stonehill to a 3-1 mark on its annual spring break trip as he posted a combined 6-2 record at singles and doubles play. Alaimo went 3-1 in singles and also combined with sophomore Brett Armstrong (Manville, R.I./Mount Saint Charles Academy) for a 3-1 clip at No. 3 doubles.

Alaimo was a double-winner in victories over Monmouth (Ill.) College and Otterbein University, including a step-up win at No. 3 singles against Otterbein, while he and Armstrong combined for a pair of 8-2 wins on those days. He posted a key 8-4 doubles victory in an important regional win over 6^th-ranked Philadelphia University and had the Skyhawks lone point in setback to University of Indianapolis with a 3-6, 6-1, 10-4 triumph at No. 4 singles.

Alaimo has posted a 19-5 combined record in singles and doubles action in his first collegiate season for Stonehill. He has posted a 10-3 singles record, including a 3-0 mark in NE-10 matches, going 4-0 at No. 5 singles, 3-1 at No. 4 and 1-0 at No. 3. Alaimo and Armstrong has combined to post a 9-2 mark in doubles play, including a 2-0 clip in conference play, with a 6-1 record at No. 3. The duo captured the doubles championship at the Stonehill Invitational in October and Alaimo advanced to the Flight 3 singles championship at the Stonehill Invitational as well.

Stonehill (8-1, 3-0 NE-10), ranked tenth in the ITA East Regional rankings, is back in action with a pair of home matches this week, starting with a non-conference clash with Post University at Charles Watt Courts on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Skyhawks return to NE-10 action on Saturday when they host American International College at 1 p.m.
