Fayed Named NE-10 Player Of The Year

Easton, Mass. - Sophomore Tim Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn.) of the Stonehill men's tennis team was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Year as announced by the conference on Sunday morning.

Fayed becomes the third Stonehill male to be named Player of the Year, and the first since Jack Granto won the award in 2004. The sophomore helped the Skyhawks to their first NE-10 regular season championship in Stonehill history with the school's first undefeated regular season.  Stonehill's 18-3 record thus far this season is also a new record for the program.

In conference play this season, he was unbeaten at No. 1 singles without dropping a set for a 10-0 record and at No. 1 doubles he teamed up with junior Mike Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass.) to go 8-0.

Fayed, who is 20-1 on the season in singles action and 16-3 in doubles play, was also named First-Team All-Conference at No. 1 singles and received First-Team honors for the second consecutive season at No. 1 doubles.

Stonehill continues their season when they enter the NCAA tournament with play beginning May 7.
