Skyhawks Breeze by Saint Anselm, 9-0

Results

Easton, Mass. -The Stonehill College men's tennis team (13-5, 5-1 Northeast-10 Conference) easily handled the winless Saint Anselm Hawks (0-11, 0-10 Northeast-10 Conference) 9-0 on Sunday.  In the process, the Skyhawks grabbed their fifth Conference victory to remain in the mix for one of the Conference's top seeds in the Championship Tournament.

Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) took the ball at first singles for the Purple and White, and made quick work on Ryan Garrette, 6-1, 6-1.  

Senior captain Mike Allen (Norwell, Mass./Norwell) and Jon Burke (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingstown) each finished 2-0 for the Skyhawks.  Allen was victorious at fourth singles and first doubles.  Burke, a freshman, earned a win at third singles and second doubles.

Dustin Marshall (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Trinity-Pawling) and Matthew Pacino (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) secured the Stonehill sweep with wins at fifth and sixth singles respectfully.  The duo also defeated Saint Anselm's Corey Boudreau and Chris Tremblay, 8-1 at third doubles.

The men travel to Bentley College on Tuesday to take on the Falcons.  The match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
