Leone Still Perfect in NE-10

North Andover, Mass. - The Stonehill College Men's Tennis team (15-5, 8-1 Northeast-10 Conference) claimed their third consecutive Conference win with a 6-3 defeat of the Merrimack College Warriors (8-5, 7-2 Northeast-10 Conference) Thursday afternoon.  The Skyhawks improved to 5-1 on the road this season and now hold and tight grip on the Conference's second seed headed into post-season play.

Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) led the Skyhawks with a 2-0 performance against the Warriors.  Allegretti, a junior, got the ball rolling, teaming with William Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnchaug) defeating Merrimack at second doubles, 8-5.  Allegretti and Herchel each won in straight sets at third and fourth singles, as well.

Sophomore Mike Leone (Cataumet, Mass./Bourne) and senior John McGaffigan each increased their undefeated Conference records with wins at fifth and sixth singles respectfully.  The duo later teamed up for Stonehill's seventh victory at third doubles.

The men return to action Sunday when they host Saint Michael's College.  The match is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at the Stonehill Courts.
