Leone Still Perfect in NE-10
North Andover, Mass. - The Stonehill College
Men's Tennis team (15-5, 8-1 Northeast-10 Conference) claimed their
third consecutive Conference win with a 6-3 defeat of the Merrimack
College Warriors (8-5, 7-2 Northeast-10 Conference) Thursday
afternoon. The Skyhawks improved to 5-1 on the road this
season and now hold and tight grip on the Conference's second seed
headed into post-season play.
Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) led the
Skyhawks with a 2-0 performance against the Warriors.
Allegretti, a junior, got the ball rolling, teaming with
William Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnchaug)
defeating Merrimack at second doubles, 8-5. Allegretti and
Herchel each won in straight sets at third and fourth singles, as
well.
Sophomore Mike Leone (Cataumet, Mass./Bourne)
and senior John McGaffigan each increased their
undefeated Conference records with wins at fifth and sixth singles
respectfully. The duo later teamed up for Stonehill's seventh
