Skyhawks Sweep Cabrini
Hilton Head, S.C. - The Stonehill College Men's Tennis team (4-2, 1-0 Northeast-10 Conference) improve to 4-2 overall with a 9-0 sweep of Cabrini. The Skyhawks received two wins by default in their first victory this spring.
Sophomore Mike Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) took first singles (6-1, 7-5, 11-9) over Justin Walsh in a third-set tie breaker. Mashkevich teamed with freshman Tim Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) to blank first doubles competition 8-0.
Junior Dustin Marshall (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Trinity-Pawling) won his first game of the spring season, defeating Michael Simms 6-0, 6-0. Marshall is 2-0, including his 6-1, 6-2 win over Jason Matthews from Nichols College in the fall.
The Skyhawks will conclude their spring break schedule tomorrow against West Virginia Wesleyan.
