The Stonehill College Men's Tennis team (14-5, 7-1 Northeast-10 Conference) claimed their second straight Conference victory with a 9-0 defeat over rival Bentley College (6-9, 6-3 Northeast-10 Conference).  The 9-0 win marks the sixth time the Skyhawks took all nine contests on their way to a win.  The victory improves the men to 7-1 in the Conference standings, and one step closer to a top seed in the Championship tournament.

Freshman Tim Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) and junior William Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Hampden) each claimed their 13th individual win in Tuesday's match.  With a 6-2, 7-5 win over Brian Barnett at third singles, Herchel improved his team-best Conference record to 7-1. Fayed's 6-0, 6-1 win over Bentley's Michael Dolan at second singles gives the rookie stand-out a team-best individual record, 13-4 overall.

Freshman Jon Burke (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingstown) preserved the Stonehill sweep with a 6-1, 2-6, 11-9 win over Bentley's Chris Schoder.  The win improves the rookie to 11-4 overall, 5-0 Northeast-10 Conference.

Michael Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) anchored the top of Stonehill's lineup once again with straight set victories at both first singles and first doubles.  The sophomore teamed with Fayed to hand Bentley's Michael Dolan and Stephen Sparks an 8-0 loss.  Mashkevich went on to win at first singles 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) over Miles Holman to take Stonehill's ninth and final victory.

The men return to action Thursday against Merrimack College.  The match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in North Andover, Mass.
