EASTON, Mass.-- The Stonehill men's tennis team set a school single-season record for victories on Saturday afternoon in notching a 7-2 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Bryant at the Ames Sports Complex.

The host Skyhawks, now 14-2 overall and a perfect 10-0 in Northeast-10 play with their school record 10th straight victory, set the mark for single-season wins in topping the previous high water mark of 13 victories set in 1978. Senior Michael Pelaggi (Dedham, Mass.), juniors Matt Grabala (Bristol, Conn.) and Andy DeVita (Milford, Mass.), along with freshman Will Herchel (Hampden, Mass.), each posted triumphs in both singles and doubles play for Stonehill. Pelaggi teamed with sophomore John McGaffigan (Dedham, Mass.) for an 8-2 win at number one doubles, while Grabala and freshman Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I.) combined for an 8-1 triumph at number two doubles for the Skyhawks.

Juniors Zach Goodman (Amherst, Mass.) and Ben Caisse (Griswold, Conn.) combined for both points on the day for the visiting Bulldogs (5-5, 5-2 Northeast-10), as each won three-set decisions at the number three and four singles spots, respectively, in pro-set tiebreakers.

Stonehill travels to Worcester, Mass. on Monday afternoon for a showdown for first place in the Northeast-10 standings with Assumption beginning at 3:30 p.m., while Bryant heads to Syracuse, N.Y. on Sunday morning to take on LeMoyne in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 11:00 a.m.
