WORCESTER, Mass.-- The Stonehill men's tennis team saw its school-record 10-match winning streak come to an end on Monday afternoon with a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match setback to Assumption in a showdown for first place in the league standings at the Plourde Center.

Senior Michael Goldman (Worcester, Mass.), junior Matt Stopp (Altoona, Pa.), sophomores Antonio Recalde (Ciudad del Este, Paraguay) and Rick Leiberman (East Haddam, Conn.), along with freshmen Jared Dorfman (Providence, R.I.) and Steve Tlumacki (Holliston, Mass.), each posted wins in both singles and doubles play for the host Greyhounds (9-3, 7-0 Northeast-10), who collected their 96th straight conference win in the process, a streak that dates back to 1999.

The visiting Skyhawks fall to 14-3 overall and finish 10-1 in Northeast-10 play with the setback, as Stonehill will finish no lower than second in the final conference regular season standings for the second time in three seasons.

Stonehill closes out regular season play on Thursday afternoon by entertaining Queens (N.Y.) in a non-league dual-match on the Stonehill Courts beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Assumption hosts American International in a Northeast-10 dual-match on Thursday afternoon at the Plourde Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.
