EASTON, Mass. – Sophomore Matthew Grabala (Bristol, Conn.) was one of four players to post wins in both singles and doubles action as Stonehill defeated Le Moyne 8-1 in a Northeast-10 Conference men’s tennis dual-match at the Ames Sports Complex on Thursday afternoon.

Grabala led the way with a victory at number one singles and a number one doubles victory alongside junior Michael Pelaggi (Dedham, Mass.). Freshman John McGaffigan (Dedham, Mass.), senior Kevin Charland (North Scituate, R.I.) and sophomore Andy DeVita (Milford, Mass.) were also victorious in both singles and doubles play for the host Chieftains (3-1, 3-1 Northeast-10). Junior Matt Hansen (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) posted a victory at the number six singles spot, while sophomore Al Santosuosso (Reading, Mass.) teamed up with DeVita for an 8-0 win at number three doubles.

Freshman Ryan Davidson (Glens Falls, N.Y.) was the lone winner for the visiting Dolphins (2-6, 2-4 Northeast-10), as he recorded a straight-set victory at the number two singles spot.

Stonehill returns to the court on Wednesday afternoon as the Chieftains head to Waltham, Mass. to take on rival Bentley in a Northeast-10 dual-match beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Le Moyne travels to North Andover, Mass. to take on Merrimack in a Northeast-10 outing on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m.
