WALTHAM, Mass.-- The Stonehill men’s tennis team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end on Wednesday afternoon in dropping an 8-1 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match decision to Bentley on the Bentley Courts.

Senior Colin Whooten (Norton, Mass.) and sophomores Greg Maloomian (Needham, Mass.) and Greg Avola (Newton, Mass.) were winners in both singles and doubles play for the host Falcons (3-6, 3-0 Northeast-10), who also received singles wins from sophomores Michael McCrillis (Kennebunkport, Maine) and Matthew Weiss (Huntington Valley, Pa.) as well as freshman Pat Schorno (Fishkill, N.Y.).

Senior Kevin Charland (North Scituate, R.I.) and freshman John McGaffigan (Dedham, Mass.) claimed the lone win of the day for the visiting Chieftains (3-2, 3-2 Northeast-10) at the number two doubles spot.

Stonehill heads to Manchester, N.H. on Saturday afternoon to take on Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 dual-match that begins at Noon, while Bentley heads to Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Thursday afternoon to take on Boston College in a non-league dual-match that begins at 5:00 p.m.
