EASTON, Massachusetts (September 14, 2019) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team posted a 3-2 victory Saturday afternoon against non-conference foe Concordia (N.Y.) College on Skyhawk Field.

Stonehill (2-2) saw senior Keegan Nutt, junior Michael McShane, and senior Ryan Chieffo tally the goals, while Trevor Tubbs assisted in Chieffo's goal. Freshman Andrew Hammersley recorded eight saves in his second win.

Just under 27 minutes into the game, the Clippers put the first tally on the board, as Freddy Nava chipped the ball into the box to find Johan Feilscher. Feilscher juggled the ball once before dribbling it past Hammersley to the back left post for a 1-0 advantage. Three minutes later, Concordia was called for a foul in the top right corner of the 18-yard box, and Nutt put the ball down the middle to tie the game at one, 1-1, as he registered his second goal off a penalty kick and third goal this season.

Right before the first half was over, Chieffo netted his first goal of the season and fifth career tally at 46:54, for a 2-1 lead. The Skyhawks continued to put pressure on the Clippers and in the 66th minute, on one of Stonehill's 16 set pieces, McShane sent the ball low past a wall of five for a two-goal lead, 3-1.

At 69:25, Concordia cut the deficit to one, 3-2, as Nemanja Zivanovic sent the ball backwards to Feilscher after taking it to the left corner, as Feilscher drilled the ball to the back right post for his second goal of the game. Stonehill defended the rest of the way to secure its second-straight victory, 3-2.

The Skyhawks take a week off before hosting Assumption College for their Purple & White Game and Northeast-10 Conference opener on Saturday, September 21 with a kickoff time of 2:00 p.m.
