EASTON, Massachusetts. (August 16, 2018) – The Stonehill College men's soccer program has been voted to finish 10th in the Northeast-10 Conference as tallied by the leagues' 13 head coaches, announced on Friday.

Reigning NE10 Tournament Champion Adelphi University has been selected as the favorite, receiving 142 points and 10 first-place votes, while Southern New Hampshire University was picked to finish second with 129 points and three first-place tallies. Last years' regular season champion, Le Moyne College received 126 points, while Franklin Pierce University (103 points) and Southern Connecticut State University (98 points) rounded out the top five spots, being voted fourth and fifth, respectively.

Stonehill aims to make a return to the NE10 tournament after a four-year hiatus. The Skyhawks posted an overall record of 6-8-2 and a conference mark of 5-7-1 in 2018. Head coach Jim Reddish, in his 12th season, saw six seniors graduate last year, while nine freshmen will put on the Purple and White for the first time this season.

Senior Keegan Nutt returns as the leading scorer from last season as he knocked in a career best five goals and tallied one assist for 11 points. Classmate Ryan Chieffo was second last year with a career high nine points, notching three goals and three assists. Senior Trevor Tubbs who came off the bench to assist the Skyhawks, registered three goals, his first three of his collegiate career.


Degbor was voted to the NE10 All-Rookie Team for his work in the back line 

Senior Billy Troast, who started and played in 13 games last season in net, held opponents to a 1.47 goals against average, as he tallied three of the Skyhawks' five shutouts during the season. Three of the four defensemen from last year return, including Nutt, Daniel Pereira, and sophomore Eben Degbor.

Nutt was voted to the NE10 All-Conference third team for his first honor, while Degbor was named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.

Stonehill starts the 2019 campaign in Pennsylvania as they battle Chestnut Hill College on Thursday, September 5th and then follow that with a game against Holy Family University on Saturday, September 7th. The Skyhawks then hold their home opener on Wednesday, September 11 against Bentley University for a non-conference contest on Skyhawk Field.
