ROCHESTER, New York (September 8, 2018) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team was defeated by Roberts Wesleyan College, 4-2, in non-conference play Saturday afternoon.

For the Skyhawks (1-1-1), Trevor Tubbs and Keegan Nutt tallied the goals, as Eben Degbor notched the only assist. Junior goalkeeper Billy Troast totaled seven saves in the loss.

The Redhawks wasted no time as Daniele Maxwell sent a cross to Alex Perez Vega who put the ball in the back of the net for a 1-0 advantage at 9:04 in the first half. Previously, Stonehill saw two shots and a corner kick, but Roberts Wesleyan's defense was able to contain them. Eight minutes later, the Redhawks attacked again, as Terrell Spencer took the initial shot inside the box but was defended by Troast and Dylan Ruiz extended the lead to two, 2-0, with the rebound tally at 17:34.

Out of Stonehill's 11 shots in the first half, Tubbs was the only Skyhawk to find the back of the net with his second goal of the season and career, cutting the deficit to one, 2-1, 10 minutes before the end of the first half with assist from Degbor.

Stonehill was able to tie the game, 2-2, a minute into the second half with a shot to the lower right corner at 46:10 from Nutt, for his first goal of the season and third of his career. Less than 10 minutes later, Spencer responded with the go-ahead goal at 55:08, 3-2, with a strike from 18 yards out and a cross from Alex Perez Vega who was in the left corner. Roberts Wesleyan continued to put the ball in the back of the net with their fourth goal of the game and Spencer's second at 59:32 to put the Redhawks back on top with a shot from eight yards out, 4-2.

Stonehill was only able to see three more shots the rest of the second half, as Roberts Wesleyan saw possession with five shots and multiple free kicks for more offensive attacking.
