Northeast-10 Announces All-Conference Teams

EASTON, Mass. (November 2, 2017) – Stonehill College men's soccer senior forward Adam Branco (Naugatuck, Connecticut/Naugatuck) has been named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference third team for his third NE10 accolade, the league office announced Thursday.

Branco was the main offensive force for the Skyhawks as he notched nine goals and six assists in the season.

In the conference, Branco finished fifth in goals and fourth in assists. The Naugatuck, Connecticut. native lead the Skyhawks to its first victory of the season in its home opener against Saint Thomas Aquinas, as he tallied the equalizer off a header for a 2-1 win. He then recorded at least one point per game for the next four games, sending him on a five-game point streak. Around mid-season, the senior scored two goals and an assist for a five-point game against American International College securing the 3-1 victory with his first game-winning tally of the season. To conclude the season, Branco rattled off another five-game spread where he scored four goals in four games and then an assist in the final game against Franklin Pierce University.

Last season, the senior collected his second All-Conference third team honor, as he finished eighth in the conference with eight goals. Once again he led the team in scoring with his eight goals and one assist for 17 total points in the season.

As a sophomore, Branco notched a career-best 11-goal season and lead the team with 26 points. He was named to the NE10 All-Conference second team for his first-career accolade for his outstanding season. That season, he was also named to the Catholic Cup All-Tournament Team for the second time.

Academically, Branco has been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, and he received the St. Thomas Acquinas medal for the highest GPA on the team during his junior year.

A 2014 graduate of Naugatuck High School, the senior started in 46 of the 66 games played in during his four years as a Skyhawk. He has totaled 29 goals and 11 assists for 69 points and has put in five game winners during his career. He also accumulated 22 multi-point games in his career, where his best happened twice combining for six points during a 6-2 win over Saint Anselm College and a 4-3 victory over the University of New Haven, scoring three goals in each.

Stonehill concluded the season with a 6-10-2 overall mark and a 3-9-1 NE10 Conference record. The Skyhawks finished 10th in the conference out of 14 teams.
