EASTON, Mass. (October 24, 2015) –  The Stonehill College men's soccer team earned a 3-0 shutout victory over the University of New Haven in Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) action this afternoon at Skyhawk Field on "Senior Day."

Prior to the game, seniors Luke Besse (Hamilton, Massachusetts/Hamilton-Wenham Regional), Evan Devanny (Concord, New Hampshire/Concord), RJ Aprile (Carmel, New York/Kennedy Catholic), Alex Presciutti (Bronx, New York/Xavier), Craig Moreau (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester), Drew Montano (Avon, Connecticut/Avon) and Anthony Cavazza (New Windsor, New York/Cornwall) were all honored for their contributions towards the Stonehill College men's soccer program.

Adam Branco (Naugatuck, Connecticut/Naugatuck) got Stonehill on the board in the 40th minute of the first half. Montano played a through ball past the defense to Branco who pushed the ball past a defender and slotted it into the near post. Branco doubled the Skyhawk lead in the 64th minute, receiving a pass from sophomore Connor O'Brien (Schenectady, New York Guilderland Central) and firing the ball into the far right side netting. Branco's two goals on the afternoon pushed him into first place in the NE-10 with eight goals scored.

Montano helped make "Senior Day" a memorable one for himself and his six fellow classmates netting the third and final goal of the match in the 78th minute of the contest. Aprile fed the ball to Montano on top of the box where Montano made a quick move and scorched a shot into the upper left corner, directly under the crossbar.

Besse turned aside four shots in the game to record his third shutout of the season and sixth of his career. New Haven's graduate goalkeeper Stephen Sasso (Orange, Connecticut/Amity Regional) made nine saves.

Stonehill held a 20-6 shot advantage and won the corners matchup, 11-3.
