Skyhawks improve to 2-0 in Northeast-10

MANCHESTER, N.H. (September 17, 2013) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team picked up a big conference win on the road today, defeating Saint Anselm College, 1-0, at Melucci Field.

Stonehill sophomore back Craig Moreau (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) beat Saint Anselm goalkeeper Mark Kotsopoulos (Shrewsbury, Mass./Saint John's) for his first career goal in the 106th minute to give the Skyhawks their second victory in a row. Stonehill, now 2-0-0 in the Northeast-10, did not win their second game in the NE-10 until October 20th last season.

Junior captain goalkeeper Adam Colella (Wilmington, Mass./St. John's Prep) made six saves in the win, earning his second consecutive shutout a day after being named the NE-10 goalkeeper of the week. This is the second time in Colella's career that he has recorded shutouts in back-to-back games, the other being last season when he shut out Saint Anselm and UMass Lowell in the final two games of the 2012 campaign.

The Skyhawks (3-2-0, 2-0-0 NE-10) return to action this Saturday, when they host Adelphi University at 11 a.m. in NE-10 play. The two schools will be competing for the first time as conference rivals, as Adelphi officially joined the Northeast-10 in 2013 for men's soccer. Saint Anselm (2-2-0, 1-1-0 NE-10) will hit the road for two consecutive matches, the first on Saturday at Le Moyne, and the second next Wednesday at Southern New Hampshire University.
