EASTON, Mass. (September 15, 2012) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team was handed its fourth-straight loss on Saturday afternoon as Southern Connecticut State University held on for a 1-0 victory over the Skyhawks in Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) action on Skyhawk Field.

Junior forward Doural Scott (New Haven, Conn./Wilbur Cross) scored the game-winner for the Owls in the 81st minute as he won a 50/50 ball away from a Stonehill defender and struck a low shot under the dive of sophomore goalkeeper Adam Colella (Wilmington, Mass./St. John's Prep) for his first marker of the season.

In the 77th minute, sophomore forward Cam McDonough (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) nearly broke open the scoreless tie for Stonehill on a header destined for the right post but graduate goalkeeper Greg Cumpstone (Killingworth, Conn./Hofstra University) made an outstretched dive towards the post and smothered the shot just before it crossed the goal line.

Cumpstone finished the game with four saves to earn his second shutout of the season. Colella turned away four shots in the loss. The Skyhawks also recorded a team save as sophomore back Ben Zandonella (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) stymied freshman forward Daquan King's (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) open net bid in the 36th minute.

Both teams compiled 11 shots each while Stonehill won the corners matchup, 6-3.
