2012: Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award. Athletic Director's Honor Roll (Fall Semester). NE-10 Commisioner's Honor Roll (Fall Semester). One of four players to start all 17 games for the Skyhawks. Anchored the Stonehill back line to a 1.77 goals against average. Tied a career-high with seven shots on the year including two shots on goal. Registered one shot on goal during a 2-1 victory over American International (10/3). Recorded a season-high two shots (one on goal) in a 3-1 loss to Queens (10/10).
2011: NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (Both Semesters) Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters. Made 13 appearances for Stonehill including 12 starts on the season. Made ten-straight starts from September 10 to October 8. Recorded his first-ever collegiate goal in a 2-1 loss to Saint Thomas Aquinas (9/2) at 89:59 to force the game into overtime. Dished out his first-ever collegiate assist in a 4-2 win over Assumption College setting up Mark Bolster's goal at 38:55. Compiled seven shots in 13 games played including three on goal. Recorded a season-high three shots in the 2-1 overtime loss to Saint Thomas Aquinas. Stonehill went 7-6-0 overall in his 13 appearances on the season.
2010: Athletic Director's Honor Roll Spring Semester. NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll both semesters. Appeared in 11 games for the Skyhawks making one start versus American International (9/8) in a 4-3 victory. Recorded one shot in a 1-0 win over Nyack College (9/4). Stonehill went 6-5-0 overall in his 11 appearances on the season.
2009: Played in 11 games in his rookie season, making one start and recording two shots. Earned his first-collegiate start in a 2-1 loss to Le Moyne College on October 24. Compiled a pair of shots in a 1-0 loss to Bentley University (9/19).
High School: 2009 graduate of Simsbury High School. Three-year letterwinner for coach Ed Lynch, serving as captain his senior year. Named first-team All-State by the Hartford Courant. Earned All-Conference honors in 2007 and 2008.
Personal: Born June 27, 1990, Silver Springs, Md. Son of Craig and Lisa Hugel of Simsbury, Conn. Has a brother David (22) and a sister Laura (17). Brother is a senior on the Saint Anselm men's soccer team. Majoring in accounting and minoring in economics. Member of the Beta Alphi Psi Honors Society. His father Craig Hugel ran track at Ithaca College. Supports Manchester United. Lists Cristiano Ronaldo as his favorite athlete.
