Hebert Named To ESPN Academic All-District Second Team

Rockland, Mass. native recognized by CoSIDA for first time

EASTON, Mass. (November 3, 2010) – Stonehill College senior men's soccer player Tyler Hebert (Rockland, Mass./Sacred Heart) has been selected to the ESPN Academic All-District I second team, as voted on by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members in New England and New York.

Hebert, who earns his first career selection, carries a cumulative grade point average of 3.95 as a finance major at Stonehill. A current Rhodes Scholar candidate, he completed an internship at the Pentagon this spring, during which he contributed to a military finance plan. Hebert was a Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic selection last year, and is a member of the Northeast-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's Honor Rolls.

Last season, Hebert earned Stonehill's Saint Thomas Aquinas Medal for having the highest GPA on the team, and he was the 2008 recipient of the Fred C. Petti Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest GPA among Stonehill student-athletes. In 58 career games for the Skyhawks, Hebert has tallied four goals and three assists.

Stonehill finished the season with a 7-8-2 overall record, ranking seventh in the NE-10 and earning their first postseason appearance since 1999.
