EASTON, Mass. (September 29, 2010) – The Stonehill College men’s soccer team regained their winning form in the Northeast-10 Conference on Wednesday, shutting out UMass Lowell 4-0 at home.

Senior goalkeeper Brandon McFarlane (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) notched his third shutout of the season, and junior Michael White (Lisbon, N.H./Lisbon Regional) tallied two goals and an assist to pace the Stonehill offense. The Skyhawks also got a goal and an assist from sophomore Anthony Campagnano (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland), a goal from senior Michael Bridges (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich), and two assists from junior Ross McWilliams (Kingston, R.I./South Kingstown).

Stonehill struck early in the first half as Campagnano lined a shot into the middle of the net in just the 10th minute, and took a 2-0 lead by the 20th minute after McWilliams set up White on the right side of the box. McFarlane made two first-half saves to maintain the lead going into the break.

McFarlane faced heavier pressure from UMass Lowell in the second half, but turned away five attempts to finish the afternoon with seven saves and the shutout.
