Keeley Nets Golden Goal In OT Win

Easton, Mass. - Stonehill snapped its two game losing streak with a solid defensive performance combined with an overtime goal from sophomore Shaun Keeley (Woburn, Mass.), evening its overall record at 2-2 with a 1-0 win over Goldey-Beacom.

In the first half, Skyhawks goalkeeper Danny Kerl (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) fought off multiple shots from an aggressive Lightning squad, turning away five shots, including a series of shots from the Lighting's John Beaucejour.

Kerl, who finished the game with six saves, watched his counterpart, Garrett Shuler make 11 saves as Stonehill peppered him with a consistent flow of shots on goal.

The Skyhawks finally looked to break through early in extra time but David Pohl's (Weymouth, Mass.) shot went wide. Keeley ended it all shortly there after, when he took a pass from freshman Tyler Hebert (Rockland, Mass.), dribbled down the field, juked two defenders and nailed home his first goal of the season for the win.

Stonehill will be tested Wednesday when it travels to Southern New Hampshire, a team picked to finish third in this season's preseason poll. Kickoff is slated for 7 PM.
