Sousa Earns Spot On Third Team Northeast-10 Men's Soccer All-Conference Squad For Efforts This Fall

November 1, 2006

Stonehill College senior co-captain Joseph Sousa has been named to the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Soccer All-Conference team in a vote taken of the league's 14 head coaches.

A native of Shelton, Conn. and a graduate of Shelton High School, Sousa led Head Coach Jose Gomes's Skyhawks in scoring for the second straight season, as he netted five goals and six assists for 16 points in 18 contests, including a pair of game-winning tallies. Sousa's goals total tied him for first on the team in that category, as he ranked second on the squad in assists this fall.

Sousa, who earned a spot on the third team all-Northeast-10 squad this fall, finished his career with 13 goals and 14 assists for 40 points, as he ranked among Stonehill's scoring leaders in each of the last three seasons. He helped lead the Skyhawks to their best overall mark in seven years this fall, as Stonehill finished the season at 7-11 overall and 3-10 in Northeast-10 play, including a victory over nationally-ranked Merrimack in September.
