NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.-- First half goals from sophomores Daniel Holley (Manorville, N.Y.) and Rick Carvalho (Hollis, N.H.) lifted Stonehill to a 2-0 non-league college men's soccer victory over Concordia (N.Y.) in second round play of the Merrimack Invitational Sunday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Holley converted a feed from freshman Shaun Keeley (Woburn, Mass.) for his third tally of the season just 5:59 into the contest to give the Skyhawks (5-3) the only goal they would need, and Carvalho provided an insurance marker for Stonehill in the 30th minute when he scored his fourth goal of the season on a direct kick.

Sophomore Danny Kerl (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) took care of the rest in goal with a pair of saves to pick up his third shutout victory of the season for Stonehill, while Ivan Rodriguez (White Plains, N.Y.) made seven stops in net for the Clippers (0-4) as the Skyhawks outshot Concordia by an 18-4 margin.

Stonehill, which has already surpassed its entire win total of last season in just eight matches to date, travels to New Haven, Conn. on Wednesday evening to take on ninth-ranked Southern Connecticut in a Northeast-10 Conference match that begins at 7:00 p.m.
