EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Joseph Sousa (Shelton, Conn.) netted a pair of goals and freshman Martin Earley (Winterport, Maine) added a goal and an assist to lead Stonehill to a 6-0 non-league college men's soccer victory over Bloomfield Monday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.

Freshman Shaun Keeley (Woburn, Mass.) gave the host Skyhawks (6-9) the only goal they would need in the 16th minute of play when he converted a pass from fellow freshman Ben Irzyk (Wakefield, R.I.), and junior Joey Silva (Brockton, Mass.) extended Stonehill's advantage to 2-0 in the 25th minute when he took feeds from Earley and senior Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.). Sousa converted a penalty kick at the 34:50 mark for his first tally of the day, and Earley converted a feed from sophomore Thomas Hernon (Mansfield, Mass.) just 19 seconds later to give the Skyhawks their 4-0 cushion. Sousa netted his second of the afternoon in the 56th minute on an assist from freshman T.J. Capecelatro (Orange, Conn.), and sophomore Daniel Holley's (Manorville, N.Y.) unassisted marker in the 74th minute closed out the scoring for the hosts.

Sophomore Danny Kerl (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Brian Guerrini (Glastonbury, Conn.) combined for three saves to post the shutout win in goal for Stonehill, while junior Rob Galante (Parlin, N.J.) made 13 stops in net for the visiting Deacons (1-11) as the Skyhawks outshot Bloomfield by a commanding 29-6 margin in posting their highest single-match goal total since a six-goal outburst on October 25, 2003 in a 6-1 victory over Caldwell.

Stonehill, which has now posted its highest single-season win total in seven years, hosts American International in a Northeast-10 Conference match on Friday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Bloomfield heads to Caldwell, N.J. on Thursday afternoon to take on Caldwell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference outing that begins at 4:00 p.m.
