MANCHESTER, N.H.-- Sophomore Tyler Waldrupes (Manchester, N.H.) goal proved to be the game-winner as Saint Anselm used three second half tallies to post a 5-2 Northeast-10 Conference mens soccer victory over Stonehill in the season finale for both teams Sunday afternoon at Melucci Field.

The two teams traded two markers each in the opening half of action, as sophomores Anthony Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.) and Matt Sawyer (Henniker, N.H.) tallied for the host Hawks (8-7-3, 6-6-1 Northeast-10) while senior Kevin Flaherty (Duxbury, Mass.) and junior Joseph Sousa (Shelton, Conn.) scored for the visiting Skyhawks (4-12-1, 3-10 Northeast-10). Waldrupes goal in the 53rd minute gave Saint Anselm the lead for good at 3-2, and tallies by sophomore D.J. Travers (Hopkinton, N.H.) and junior Tim Hatton (Dighton, Mass.) that came less than seven minutes apart closed out the scoring.

Seniors Jesse Milling (Columbia, S.C.) and Bruce Dietterle (Newmarket, N.H.), along with sophomore Rob Thatcher (Topsfield, Mass.) and freshman Sam Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.), registered assists in the win for Saint Anselm, while senior Brian Gregorio (Naugatuck, Conn.) assisted on Sousas goal for Stonehill. Sophomore Scott Johnson (Plymouth, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for the Hawks with a two-save effort, while senior Chad Etting (Plymouth, Conn.) made three stops in 88-plus minutes in his final collegiate match in net for the Skyhawks as Saint Anselm outshot Stonehill by a 16-9 margin for the contest.
