SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-- Sophomore Marek Przybylek (Olsztyn, Poland) netted a goal and an assist to lead American International to a 4-1 Northeast-10 Conference mens soccer victory over Stonehill Monday afternoon at AIC Park.

The host Yellow Jackets (9-5-2, 7-4-2 Northeast-10) took a 2-0 first half lead on goals by senior Akill Jules (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) and sophomore Chris Carrozza (Methuen, Mass.), but the visiting Skyhawks (4-10-1, 3-8 Northeast-10) sliced that margin in the 40th minute of action when senior Mark Bombardier (Hadley, Mass.) converted passes from junior Phil Marchese (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and senior Brian Gregorio (Naugatuck, Conn.). Freshman Gustavo Duarte (Leominster, Mass.) extended American Internationals lead to 3-1 in the 62nd minute of play, and Przybylek closed out the scoring for the hosts with just over eight minutes to play in the contest.

Junior Greg Laronde (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) and sophomores Ricky Morris (Victoria, Grenada), Ryan Hunt (Saugerties, N.Y.) and James Geary (Billerica, Mass.) each recorded single assists in the triumph for American International, as junior Matt Marcoux (Blackstone, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for the Yellow Jackets with one first half save and senior Michael Murphy (Ithaca, N.Y.) was not called upon to make a save in the final 45 minutes of play. Senior Chad Etting (Plymouth, Conn.) made six stops in net in the setback for Stonehill as American International outshot the Skyhawks by a 15-5 margin.

Stonehill travels to Manchester, N.H. on Wednesday afternoon to take on Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 match that begins at 3:00 p.m., while American International hosts Post (Conn.) in a non-league match on Thursday afternoon at AIC Park at 2:00 p.m.
