Stonehill Ice Hockey Sweeps NE10 Weekly Honors

Stonehill Ice Hockey freshman forward Brandon Nehmner, senior forward Cameron Wright, and senior goalie Matthew Schoen were awarded weekly honors by the NE10 for their performances over the last week. Nehmer was named NE10 Rookie of the Week after being one of two Skyhawks to tally four points in the two-game week. The freshman totaled four assists with three of them in a big 7-2 Franklin Pierce win Saturday night. This was his first-career game with three points and his third-career game with multiple points. In the second game against the Ravens, he had the first two assists of the game, back-to-back. Wright was named NE10 Player of the Week after leading the Skyhawks with four points in a two-game week where the team went 1-0-1 in conference play. Stonehill tied Franklin Pierce, 3-3, as the senior tallied an assist. He later totaled three points in a 7-2 victory with one goal and two assists. This was Wright’s fourth game this year with three points and he finished the week with a +3 rating. Schoen was named NE10 Goaltender of the Week after leading the Skyhawks to a 1-0-1 week including a big 7-2 victory over Franklin Pierce where he produced 46 saves. He allowed five goals in two games for a 2.40 goals-against average totaling 83 saves out of the 88 total shots this week. In the past 11 games, the Skyhawks have lost just twice.
