Jacques earns his second, Palmer picks up his first, and Wright earns his fourth accolade

Northeast 10 Men's Ice Hockey Report: Week 12

EASTON, Mass. (January 31, 2017) – Stonehill College men's ice hockey swept the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honors after a 2-0 week earning victories over conference foes Southern New Hampshire University and Franklin Pierce University, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Evan Jacques (Norton, Mass./South Shore Kings-EJHL) was tabbed NE10 Athlete of the Week for his second honor, as Billy Palmer (Cranston, R.I./Boston Bandits-EHL Premier) was named Goaltender of the Week for his first and Cameron Wright (West Dummerston, Vt./Springfield Pics-USPHL Premier) earned his fourth Rookie of the Week award.

Senior forward Jacques highlighted the three honors by recording his second Athlete of the Week award this year. Jacques posted goals in each of the team's conference victories this week, including a 5-1 offensive drive against Southern New Hampshire University and a 3-1 win against Franklin Pierce University. The senior combined for a +2 in the 2-0 week for the Skyhawks, while also being instrumental in killing the team's 16 total penalties.

The senior ranks tied for first in goal scoring in the NE10 (12), tied for fourth in power play goals (4) and game-winning goals (2), and tied for 11th in point scoring (15). Jacques also is second on the team with 15 points (12 goals, 3 assists).

Sophomore goaltender Palmer registered his first NE10 accolade of the season after leading the Skyhawks to a perfect 2-0 week, its second time this year. Palmer combined for 72 saves in the victories for a .973 save percentage. The Cranston, Rhode Island native also held both opponents to one goal apiece.

Palmer ranks third in the NE10 in goals against average (3.42) and fourth in winning percentage (.452). In the 39 games played over his two years in net, the sophomore has averaged a 3.14 goals against average and 1,195 saves for an overall record of 18-14-6.

As a freshman, Palmer led the Skyhawks to its second NE10 championship, while also being named NE10 Rookie of the Year and selected to the NE10 All-Conference second team.

Wright

Freshman forward Wright tallied his fourth Rookie of the Week honor after recording five points in the two-game week. Wright posted his first four-point game (1 goal, 3 assists) in a 5-1 domination against Southern New Hampshire University, capturing the Skyhawks second victory in the three-game series. He also assisted Jacques' power play goal in a 3-1 win over Franklin Pierce University. The freshman posted a +3 week leading all Skyhawks in points.

Wright now leads Stonehill with 17 points. He also is tied for sixth in the NE10 for points (17), tied for fifth in goal scoring (8), tied for 11th in assists (9), tied for fourth with two game-winning goals. As a freshman, Wright has posted the most points in the NE10.

Stonehill (8-11-3, 5-3-0 NE10) is back in action on Tuesday, January 31 as it hosts Saint Michael's College in a NE10 conference matchup at the Foxboro Sports Center with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
