EASTON, Mass. (January 10, 2017) – Stonehill College men's ice hockey freshman Conor Cassidy (Wilmington, Del./Canterbury and Kents Hill) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week for the first time this season, the league office announced Monday.

Cassidy led the Skyhawks to a 1-1 weekend as he was one-of-two players to record a two-goal weekend.

Cassidy kicked off the Skyhawk's first game against Nichols College at the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational with a goal at 1:01 in the first period. The goal was assisted by Michael Seibold (Reading, Mass./Tilton School), as Cassidy recorded his fourth score of the season.

In the second round of the invitational, Cassidy once again found the back of the cage, at 4:24 in the first period, jumpstarting the Skyhawks scoring. Stonehill went on to defeat Becker College 4-3, as Cassidy tallied his fifth goal of the season with assists from classmates Jack Hall (Shelburne, Vt./Proctor Academy) and Cameron Wright (West Dummerston, Vt./Springfield Pics-USPHL Premier).

Stonehill (4-9-2, 1-3-0 NE10) is back in action on Tuesday, January 10 as it travels to Wentworth Institute of Technology in a non-conference battle with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop at Allied Veteran's Memorial Rink in Everett, Massachusetts.
