High School: 2014 graduate of St. Dominic Academy in Auburn, Maine, where he competed in ice hockey, soccer, and baseball. Was a member of teams that won the state championship in baseball as a freshman and soccer as a sophomore. As a senior, served as team captain for soccer and was named to the All-Conference academic honor roll. Also won Eastern Maine hockey championship and was named an All-State defenseman in final year at St. Dominic. Played junior hockey with the Walpole Express.
Personal: Born June 30, 1994 in North Kingston, Rhode Island. Son of John and Kristen Hainey of Fryeburg. Has a brother, Chase (18). Chose Stonehill for its great criminology program and to play college hockey. Lists the Boston Bruins as his favorite team and Cam Neely as his favorite athlete. Enjoys being outdoors, fishing, and canoeing.
