FOXBORO, Mass. (December 2, 2012) – The Stonehill College men's ice hockey team fell to Western New England University, 4-2, in non-conference action on Sunday night at the Foxboro Sports Center in a makeup game which was originally scheduled for October 29.

The Skyhawks held an early 1-0 advantage in the first period before the Golden Bears rattled off four unanswered goals, including three in the second stanza, to push Stonehill's losing streak to four-straight games.

Freshman forward Anthony D'Elia (Stamford, Conn./Gunnery School) put the Skyhawks on top, 1-0, with his first-career collegiate goal just one minute and ten seconds into the first period. D'Elia received a pass from junior forward Bryan Rooney (Canton, Mass./New Hampton School) behind the net and tallied a wrap-around goal through Western New England goaltender Tim Carr's (Pine Bush, N.Y.) five-hole for the early advantage.

Junior forward Chris Connors (Clifton Park, N.Y.) netted the game-winning goal at 13:38 redirecting a shot from the point behind Skyhawks netminder Chris Tasiopoulos (Norwell, Mass./Thayer Academy), his third of the season.

Western New England tacked on another goal at 5:46 of the third period as sophomore forward Matt Dore (Shelburne, Mass.) blasted home a loose puck in the slot into the top-right corner of the net.

Freshman forward Robbie Dorgan (Ossining, N.Y.) cut into the deficit at 4-2 with his fourth goal of the season 13 minutes and 29-seconds into the final period with a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle that ricocheted off a Golden Bears defenseman and into the net.
